Deep Dish Pizza
 

INGREDIENTS

 
6 tablespoons vegan margarine
1 1/2 cup unbleached flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup water
10 ounces tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed garlic
4 ounces extra firm tofu, cut into squares  
1/2 cup each of sliced mushrooms, diced onions, and diced bell pepper
 

DIRECTIONS

 
Soften the margarine to room temperature. Mix the flour and baking soda. Cream the flour into the margarine with a fork, making sure that they are thoroughly blended. Add the water and mix. Knead the dough and form it into a ball. Roll out the dough to fit a 9 inch pie pan and place it in the pan. Mix the tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and garlic together. Spread the sauce evenly over the dough. Evenly distribute the tofu, mushrooms, onions, and peppers over the sauce. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
