Advice About Flea Control

"Please don't buy over the counter flea control products. Some of them are harmful and none of them work."

If you love your cat, please take the time to read the information below. Then throw away the over the counter flea control products and get Capstar and Advantage from the vet.

My mother adopted a kitten and soon discovered he had fleas. There were tons of them in her apartment all of a sudden. The fleas were biting her and the kitten nonstop. They were leaving flea dirt everywhere (yech!). My mother went to the store and bought Hartz flea powder because years ago it worked. This time it didn't work. She then tried flea collars and flea drops of several different brands along with the flea powder. That didn't work either.

My brother told her she would have to get her apartment fumigated by a professional exterminator or the fleas would never go away. This is not true. There is a fast easy way to get rid of fleas, eggs, and larvae. It's called Capstar and Advantage, which are only available by vet prescription (many vets will prescribe it without charging for an office visit).

Capstar is a pill that can be crushed up and mixed into your cat's food. A half hour after my mother's cat ingested the Capstar the fleas started dropping off dead.

Advantage is placed on the back of the cat's neck. Unlike store bought flea control drops, Advantage really works! My mother's cat hasn't had a problem with fleas since.

When I rescued my cat, he had fleas. It only took one Capstar tablet and one drop of Advantage to get rid of the fleas.

If your cat is an indoor cat, you will probably only have to do one flea treatment. Outdoor cats need to be treated with Advantage once each month.
