Should You Spay Or Neuter Your Cat?
"Spay and neuter, spay and neuter! There are way too many homeless cats and kittens in the world. We multiply very quickly,
we mark our territories with urine, we yowl incessantly,
and we attack humans when we are not spayed or neutered."
There are a lot of good reasons to get your cat spayed or neutered. I was hesitant because I
didn't want my cat to go through surgery and I didn't want to take
away his manhood. As hard as it was taking him in to be neutered,
I knew it had to be done. |

Five Reasons To Spay or
Neuter
1) Cat Overpopulation: Cats multiply very
quickly and this results in millions of unwanted cats and
kittens. They live miserable lives and then die by starvation, severe
weather, traffic, and attacks by animals (including cat hating
humans).
2) Healthier Cats: If you spay your female
cat, her risk of certain illnesses will be greatly reduced. If you do not have
her spayed, she will be at risk for mammarian cancer and pyometra (a life
threatening uterine disease). If you do not neuter your male cat, he will
be at risk for testicular and prostate cancer.
3) Cleaner Carpets: Cats that haven't been
spayed or neutered feel the need to mark their territory. In other
words they will pick several areas in your home and spray them with urine on a
daily basis. They'll spray your carpets, furniture, and even your bed! Both boy
and girl kitties who aren't fixed will do this.
4) Peace and Quiet: Cats that haven't been
spayed or neutered have strong sexual urges. They will yowl at the top of their
lungs at all hours of the day or night because they so desperately want to
get laid.
5) Better Disposition: Before I got my cat neutered he would lunge at my ankles to
viciously claw and bite them with all his might! Spaying or neutering cats
makes them less aggressive and more affectionate. So, spay or neuter your
cat-- trust me, you will both be
happier.
