Have you downloaded any games,
music, or movies in the past few months? If so, your computer may be infected
with "spyware".
Spyware is used by internet
marketers to switch the banners and ads on other Web sites to their own ads. For
example, a marketer who sells hair regrowth treatments can cause you to see his
ad instead of the ad or banner that the Web site's owner placed
there.
Spyware can slow down your
computer and even cause it to crash.
Web site owners should avoid the
standard banner sizes, such as 468 by 60 because your banner could be seen as
an ad for someone else's product by people whose computers have been
infected with spyware.
